AURA, a life saving technology platform making emergency response services more accessible and affordable, today announced that it has been ranked No.2 in the IT & Software category and No.52 overall in the Financial Times’ annual list of Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies.

The recognition comes as AURA continues its rapid expansion across Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States, scaling its mission to make emergency response faster, more accessible, and more reliable through intelligent dispatch technology.

The Financial Times’ ranking is compiled in conjunction with global data and research company Statista, and orders companies according to their compound annual growth in revenues (CAGR) between 2021 and 2024. AURA’s inclusion in the ranking reflects its sustained growth trajectory and increasing international adoption as organisations across different sectors look to embed emergency response infrastructure within their existing technology.

Since its foundation in 2017, AURA has created South Africa’s largest response network of over 11,000 security and medical responders, allowing the platform to democratise access to emergency response services worldwide through its smart auto-dispatch and routing platform. The technology enables people in emergencies to connect instantly with the nearest vetted private security and medical responders, making lifesaving help available anywhere, anytime.

Operating on a B2B2C model, AURA integrates smart and scalable technology into its clients’ customer portals, allowing users to offer their staff and customers instant emergency assistance as a free or paid for value-added service.

AURA’s platform has now helped save over 8,000 lives and created over 460,000 safe spaces. These figures underscore AURA’s meaningful impact in building safer cities across Africa and in the United Kingdom and United States.

AURA’s absolute growth rate between 2021 and 2024 stood at 218.64%, with a CAGR of 47.15%, while annual revenue grew in that period by 169%. In 2025, AURA raised a $15.1mn Series B funding round co-led by the Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund (CAIF) and Partech to fuel the company’s expansion into the United States.

Warren Myers, co-founder and CEO of AURA, said, “We’re incredibly proud of what the team has achieved in reaching this growth milestone and being recognised by the Financial Times. It reflects the pace and purpose behind our growth, and also validates the urgency of our mission. Emergency response is still too slow and fragmented in many parts of the world, which is why there is such strong demand for AURA’s solution.”
“But we’re still at the beginning of the journey — there is much more to do as we continue scaling AURA across Africa, the UK, the US, and beyond, with the goal of making emergency response faster and more accessible wherever it’s needed.”
